Gold buyback : from recovery to rebirth

Why sell your gold?
There are many economic and environmental benefits to selling your gold. By encouraging the reuse of metal that is already in circulation, you are helping to preserve natural resources and reduce mining, an activity that is often harmful to the environment. This process limits greenhouse gas emissions and the dispersion of toxic substances, such as mercury and cyanide, produced by traditional extraction methods.

Moreover, if you own old, worn or damaged jewellery, reselling it offers an opportunity to add value. These pieces can be melted down and transformed into new creations, thus contributing to a circular and responsible economy. In this way, you give them a second life, while enabling others to acquire sustainable and ethical jewellery.
How do you sell your gold?
To resell your gold at Lepage, simply visit one of our shops (Lille, Rouen, Le Havre, Nancy and Strasbourg). We accept jewellery, coins and ingots and advise you on their value. However, to be reusable, the gold you wish to sell us must be 999 thousandths, 917 thousandths or 750 thousandths (formerly known as 24, 22 and 18 carat gold). The purer the gold, the higher its redemption value.

To process your application, please bring the following documents with you:
Identification (identity card or passport),
Proof of address less than 3 months old (gas, electricity or telephone bill),
Your bank details to make the transfer.
Once your gold has been weighed and valued, we'll give you a price quote based on the gold price. We then check the quality of the gold and proceed with the sale, sending you payment by cheque or post. Your gold will then be recast into new creations, contributing to a more responsible consumption cycle.
Gold Upcycling

Upcycling aims to add value to objects by giving them a second life of superior quality.
To guarantee the authenticity and purity of the gold, a hallmark is affixed:
Seahorse: 999% gold
Wolf's head: 917% gold
Eagle head: 750% gold
If these hallmarks are illegible, our experts can value your gold. Our jewellers first carry out a visual analysis using a magnifying glass, followed by chemical tests (using acid or a blowtorch) to determine the precise composition of the metal.
We do not buy back set stones. Once the quality of the gold has been validated, our jewellers remove the stones, that you recover and which you can then reassemble on a new creation using our made-to-measure service.
The buy-back process takes around five days. At the end of this period, you are given a cheque and a repurchase contract, and the transaction is recorded in an official register that can be consulted by customs. The gold is then refined and sent to a smelter. Because of the regulations in force, it is not possible to manufacture a new piece of jewellery directly from the gold bought back.

Alba collection

Lepage presents its Alba jewellery collection, a refined, modern line that pays tribute to beauty and light. This collection, crafted entirely from upcycled gold, draws its inspiration from the dawn. The name ‘Alba’, meaning ‘dawn’ in Italian, embodies the meeting of night and day, symbolising a new beginning, a renewal.
With its rounded shapes, each piece of jewellery seems to capture the precise moment when the first rays of sunlight graze the world. The pieces play with volumes and surfaces, allowing the light to reflect in subtle ways, sometimes on the gold, sometimes in the void, creating a unique and delicate radiance.
The entire collection is a tribute to the natural beauty of light, but also a symbol of ethics and sustainability, with each piece of jewellery designed using materials that respect natural resources and produced in French workshops. Alba embodies the purity, grace and harmony of the dawn, while echoing a commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
