Use ribbon

If you can't get to a shop, you can measure your finger at home using a few simple tools. Here's how to do it:

- Take a piece of thread, twine or flexible ribbon: wrap it around the base of your finger, but don't tie it too tightly, to keep it comfortable.

- Make a mark where the ribbon crosses: you can also use a pen to mark the precise point where it joins.

- Measure the length of the string or ribbon in millimetres using a ruler.

- Compare this measurement with the size chart below to find out your exact size.

Measuring the inside diameter of a ring you are already wearing

If you already have a ring that fits perfectly, you can measure its inside diameter to determine your size.

- Take a ruler.

- Measure the inside diameter of the ring (measure from side to side, not including the edges).

- Use this measurement to compare with the size chart.

This method is ideal if you have a ring you're sure will fit perfectly, but it may not be accurate with particularly wide or thin models. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service department.

If you're planning to propose or give a ring as a surprise, it's understandable that you don't want to reveal your intentions before the big moment. Here are a few tips for finding the right size without arousing suspicion:

- Ask someone close to you: If you have an idea of which finger the person wants to wear their ring on (ring finger, middle finger, etc.), you can discreetly ask a friend or family member if they already wear a ring, and what size.

- Observe their current rings: If the person already wears rings, you can use one of them to measure the inside diameter. If this seems too risky, a piece of jewellery they wear often can be a good basis for comparison.

Opt for an adjustment: If you're not sure of the exact size, choose a slightly larger size. You can also have the size altered if necessary after the magic moment. Indeed, La Maison Lepage offers an after-sales service to adjust or exchange your ring if the size does not fit perfectly. You can also have the size altered if necessary after the magic moment.
